Computer Help Desk staff can remotely help instructors, departments, and students test online course material and teaching and collaboration platforms. With this service, instructors can proactively test the technology they're using with live attendees that can provide feedback before delivering it live to a class. Students can use this service to test the technology they're using to participate or present in a class.

What is in scope with this service?

  • CHD support can join an existing Zoom, Teams, BlueJeans, Brightspace, or OAC meeting/course in a role (typically student/participant) assigned by the instructor of the course. 
  • CHD support can provide feedback on what they see, what they're able to do, and use screen sharing to show the instructor what they see directly.
  • CHD support can take quizzes and upload documents and videos to simulate assignment submissions.
  • CHD support can provide technical advice and troubleshooting assistance on a best-effort basis, share links to instructional materials, and refer the client to the proper contacts for things that are beyond the scope of the service.

What is out of scope with this service?

  • CHD support cannot provide pedagogical support or advice.
  • CHD support cannot edit/build/update course or other content.
  • CHD support cannot provide classroom support (remote or attending).
  • CHD support cannot provide live support.
  • CHD support cannot provide hardware setup support.
  • No permanent/assigned contact person.
  • No face to face appointments/office visits.
