The Microsoft Key Management Service (KMS) provides enterprise volume activations for modern Microsoft Windows and Office products. KMS allows departments to install software that has been licensed under volume licensing, without a product key. Since all Windows and Office installations at UVic must have valid licenses, University Systems recommends that departments use KMS for most stationary university computers requiring Microsoft products.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You can be informed of service interruptions by subscribing to Informed.
