Accessibility Plan
We commit to addressing and removing barriers that hinder full and equal participation of people with disabilities.
UVic's Accessibility Plan includes guiding principles and existing resources. It summarizes consultations, barriers and priorities for the next three years to address those barriers.

Academic accessibility
UVic has services and supports to ensure all students can access education and have the opportunity to excel.
- Academic accommodations are governed by Policy AC1205: Academic Accommodation and Access for Students with Disabilities.
- The Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) works with faculty and students to promote educational accessibility for students with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
- The Division of Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation supports instructors with universal design principles for course delivery.
Physical space
Facilities Management provides services and physical environments that are usable and accessible to people with a wide range of abilities. We’re happy to supply barrier-free furniture and respond to accessibility needs of students, staff and faculty.
All-gender washrooms
Washrooms should be safe and accessible for everyone, regardless of your gender. All-gender washrooms are available in many buildings at UVic.
Website accessibility
UVic is committed to digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Wherever possible, we aim to adhere to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2 standards.
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the UVic website. If you have experienced any accessibility barriers while using any part of uvic.ca, please let us know.
