UVic's Technology Solutions Centre (TSC) helps UVic employees to source and purchase technology. We can consult with you at any stage of IT procurement.
We also:
- research and create institutional standards for IT products and services
- provide technical review for non-standard IT purchases
- work with suppliers and Purchasing Services to improve IT procurements processes
Purchasing
Standard computers
Buy standard computers and accessories from the Microserve eStore using a streamlined, expedited process.
Software
TSC can purchase software from many vendors through Compugen including premium Microsoft 365 apps like Visio and Project. Contact us for a consultation a quote.
Cell phones
We have a contract to purchase business cell phones and plans from Rogers.
Everything else
We can help with any technology procurement including non-standard computers and software as a service. We'll help you choose suitable products, find suppliers, get quotes, take advantage of corporate discounts and navigate the larger procurement process. University Systems can also provide project management support for projects involving IT systems. Consult us early on so we can make sure your purchase is approved and can be supported.

Technical approval
We review all non-standard technology purchases to make sure they're compatible with UVic's network, suitable for their purpose and able to meet UVic's information security standards. Submit a request for technical approval before you purchase devices or software using UVic accounts.
