SharePoint "https://connect.uvic.ca" Patching (COMPLETED)

Effective 16 hours ago: Starting Friday night and continuing into Saturday the latest Microsoft Updates will be applied to the SharePoint farm https://connect.uvic.ca .The December Cumulative update for SharePoint 2013 will also be applied.

There may be interruptions to connectivity to https://connect.uvic.ca while the individual servers are restarted after being updated.

The Informed will be updated when the work has been completed.


***COMPLETED*** All SharePoint servers have been updated successfully. SharePoint services operating normally.

PaperCut outage to apply OS patches

Effective 2 hours ago: Updates have been successfully applied and all PaperCut services are available again.

OS updates will be applied to the PaperCut production application server.


All PaperCut printing services including online payment will be unavailable for approximately one hour during this update.

DNS Server Software Updates - No Outage Expected

Effective 12 hours ago: One member of each of the DNS clusters will receive operating system and software updates, requiring a reboot of the server, at 9:00pm on Friday February 12th. The remaining member of each cluster will remain online throughout, and the DNS service is not expected to experience any outage. This Informed will be updated when the work is complete.

Outage of several Power Distribution Cabinets (PDCs) in EDC2 on Monday Feb 15 from 7am to 5pm

Effective 1 day from now: In order to implement enhancements to our electrical infrastructure as part the EDC2 Expansion Project, we are scheduling an outage of several Power Distribution Cabinets (PDCs) on Monday Feb 15 from 7am to 5pm.
We are taking preventative steps so there are no impacts on services during this window.

Exchange and SharePoint (share and connect) Services moving to EDC1

Effective date: February 14, 2016 at 06:00:00 pm(1 day from now)

Effective 1 day from now: Exchange and SharePoint (share.uvic.ca and connect.uvic.ca) services will be moved to EDC1 to accommodate Monday PDC work in EDC2.

The move will happen between 6PM and 9PM on Sunday, February 14th.

For Exchange, no client interruption is anticipated. For Connect, no client interruption is anticipated. For Share.uvic.ca, the page will be unavailable during the move and will be back in service after several minutes.

Services will be moved to normal operation on Monday evening, February 15th, at 6PM.

A reminder that share.uvic.ca search functionality will not work on Monday, while service is operating out of EDC1.
