Nov 23 UVic Sign In Upgrade

Effective 7 hours ago: On Thursday, November 23 between 5:00am and 8:00am, there will be short and intermittent service disruptions to MyPage and UVic Sign In Services while these services are upgraded. During this time, users may experience service disruptions when attempting to login to CourseSpaces or the Online Academic Community. We thank you for your patience.

Cascade publishing temporarily unavailable

Effective 19 hours ago: *Update* Cascade publishing is now available again, please report any issues to ptsadmin@uvic.ca *Update*

Cascade publishing will be disabled on Wednesday Nov 22nd at 17:00 and remain disabled until approx Nov 23rd at 08:00 while an upgrade is underway. This post will be updated when Cascade is available again.

Production Loadbalancer Software Patching

Effective 17 hours from now: Network Services will be patching the operating system and software code on the production Loadbalancers starting at 6:00am on November 24th.

Active Loadbalancer service will move from EDC2 to EDC1 and then back again before 7:00am.

No outage is expected but some connections may need to be re-authenticate after the service moves between data centers.

Any problems encountered from this change should be directed to netadmin@uvic.ca.

Data Center Voice Services Scheduled Maintenance

Effective date: November 26, 2017 at 02:00:00 pm(2 days from now)

Effective 2 days from now: Network Services will be upgrading the firmware and management software on both of the Data Center Voice Services servers on Sunday November 26, 2017 starting at 6:00am.

These servers contain the Call Manager and Contact Centre Virtual Servers for all call processing for the University. We maintain three servers acting as a cluster and any voice services required will be handled by the other two servers during this time. There is no update to the Call Manager or Contact Centre software at this time and no outage is expected.

The work on the EDC1 server will be fully completed prior to the EDC2 server being started.

NETS: CST Switch software upgrade - November 23, 2017 - 6:00 AM

Effective 6 hours ago: Network services will be upgrading software on a switch located at CST-030 at 6:00 AM on November 23, 2017.

Voice, data, and wireless served by the switch will be down while the device upgrades.

Work will be completed by 6:45 AM.

CAS, www.uvic.ca, MyPage Upgrade

Effective 7 hours ago: There will be an upgrade to CAS, www.uvic.ca, and MyPage taking place November 23rd at 5AM. During this time those services may have intermittent outages. All services will be back online by 7:30AM that day.

FMIS Multiple Login Issues

FMIS experiencing difficulties

NETS: MSB Routing failover test at 12:00 PM

Effective 14 minutes ago: Network services will be switching the network routing path for the MSB building at 12 PM on Nov 23, 2017. This is to address reported video conferencing issues with MedIT.

At time of changeover, users may notice a slight network delay or disconnection including voice calls. No outage is expected.

Work will be completed by 12:30 PM.
