Scheduled Maintenance Compute Canada Cloud (west/nefos) April 22, 2015 @9:00am

Effective 3 days from now: Please ensure that all VM's are terminated prior to the outage. Any VM's left running at the start of the outage will be terminated.

We will have a scheduled outage of the Compute Canada cloud (west.computecanada.ca) on Wednesday April 22 starting at 9:00am PDT. This outage is to work around an issue with our network switch and the Vendor has provided a temporary solution until the firmware update is available.

We anticipate the outage will be complete by 5:00pm PDT.

Scheduled system maintenance will be done on SharePoint servers (share.uvic.ca) between 9:00AM and 12:00PM on Saturday, April 18th, 2015.

SharePoint services may be briefly unavailable several times during this maintenance interval, while the services are switched over, after which the normal operation and availability should resume.

It is recommended that you save any work in progress, and close any open files before the scheduled maintenance period.

This Informed will be updated after the maintenance is complete.

Scheduled Maintenance: print.uvic.ca

Effective 9 hours ago: Updates are being applied to the print.uvic.ca cluster nodes between 2000 and 2200 on Saturday, April 18th, 2015

One node will remain available at a time but users attempting to print during this maintenance window may experience a momentary print queue outage when the cluster nodes are being failed over.

Note:
Printing services provided by print2.uvic.ca and print4.uvic.ca are not affected and will remain available.

Scheduled Server Maintenance: Symantec Ghost server

Effective 7 hours ago: Updates are being applied to the Symantec Ghost server 'starfish' used by the Student Computing Facilities located in BEC, CLE, EDUC and HSD between 2200 and 2400 on Saturday, April 18th, 2015

No client impact is expected as no workstations will be updated during the scheduled maintenance window.

Scheduled Server Maintenance - Jonas

Effective 6 hours ago: Required system updates will be applied to the Jonas server beginning this Saturday, April 18, 2015 beginning at 23:00 PDT.

Normal Service will resume by 01:00 PDT, April 19, 2015.
