Effective 20 hours ago: Connect is back online. Please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@uvic.ca if you note any lingering issues. The Computer Help Desk is receiving reports that Connect.uvic.ca is inaccessible. System Administrators are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. This post will be updated when the service is restored.

Postponed: Scheduled rsfshares (CIFS) migration Monday Feb 20 @16:00

Effective 14 hours ago: We have postponed this migration and will update this informed once we have defined a new migration date/time.

We will be migrating the rsfshares service to new hardware this evening starting at 16:00. During the final sync the data on rsfshares will continue to be accessible but read-only. Tomorrow morning at 9:00am we open access to the new share which will be accessible as rsfshare.uvic.ca and we will keep read-only client access to the original share for 2 weeks after the migration.

Restart of Passive SQL node in EDC1 (COMPLETED)

Effective 18 hours ago: Sysadmins will be restarting the Passive SQL node in EDC1 for Connect to resolve a synchronization issue. There should be no impact to client connectivity to https://connect.uvic.ca as the Active SQL connections are hosted from the EDC2 server

The Informed will be updated once the work has completed.


***COMPLETED*** SQL node in EDC2 restarted successfully.

GEN1P Mysql update Feb 21, 17:30

Effective 10 hours from now: The mysql installation on gen1p.mysql.uvic.ca will be patched February 21 at 1730. The outage will be less than 10 minutes, but all hosted databases will be unavailable during that time.
