Call Manager (Telephone) Service Patch Upgrade

Effective date: February 27, 2015 at 10:00:00 pm(24 hours from now)

Effective 24 hours from now: Network Services will be upgrading the three Call Manager servers on Friday February 27, 2015 starting at 10:00pm. These servers manage the VoIP telephones and all call processing for the University. The servers act as a cluster and will be upgraded one at a time to minimize service disruption.

All VoIP phones should receive a firmware upgrade (reboot required) as part of the upgrade.

Loadbalancer Software Patch Upgrade - COMPLETE

Network Services is performing a software patch upgrade on the production load balancers at 6:00am on February 26, 2015. This upgrade may briefly interrupt several enterprise systems at UVic - including e-mail, local systems and websites (e.g., Banner, FAST, FMIS, Moodle, ldap, www.uvic.ca, venus.uvic.ca, mail.uvic.ca).

We do not expect there to be any outages since there are two load balancers in failover mode with only one load balancer being upgraded at a time. Session information may be lost during failover requiring users to re-login.

Any issues resulting from this upgrade should be reported to netadmin@uvic.ca.

SAS Restart 9pm Thu Feb 26th

SAS will be restarted tonight at 9pm in order to resolve an issue with new user accounts being unable to login. SAS should be available again by 10pm.

Raiser's Edge Unavailable 5pm - 6pm Mon March 2nd
