All employees and students at the University of Victoria have the ability to create centrally supported WordPress sites through the Online Academic Community (OAC). The OAC supports the creation of academic, course, and personal sites, research sites, and forums. Use the OAC to connect with peers, discover and comment on sites and forums.

The OAC has more than 100 themes and plugins available to create unique blog sites.

How do I request or access this service?

The Online Academic Community can be accessed at https://oac.uvic.ca with your NetLink ID and passphrase.

Please note that UVic MFA is required for accessing the OAC.

What is the cost for this service?

This service is provided free of charge.

When is this service available?

The OAC is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You can be informed of service interruptions by subscribing to Informed.

How do I get help with this service?

We offer self-help tools such as videos, a community support forum, and FAQ within OAC Help. The drop-in support schedule is available on through Technology Integrated Learning.
