PC laptop: We have four Dell laptop computers to rent. They feature: Windows 10, DVD drive, wireless connectivity, Microsoft Office 2016 (including PowerPoint), and security lock.

Teleconference kit

AV equipment

Teleconference Kit: Useful for meeting rooms and confernence calls. Please note that this unit is not configured for outgoing long distance calls. You will need to arrange your own calling card or have your long-distance attendees call in.

Instructions

To use the teleconference kit, you need an available and active Ethernet port configured for Voice VLAN. Please contact the Computer Help Desk or your departmental support personnel for assistance.

We have two types of teleconference kits, one powered over Ethernet, and one with an external power supply. If your teleconference takes place in a location without power over Ethernet ports, let us know so we can arrange the appropriate teleconference kit for you.

For the power over Ethernet conference kit, simply plug the unit in to an active power over Ethernet port configured for Voice VLAN. The unit takes a few minutes to power on. Optionally, connect the satellite microphones.

For the external power supply conference kit, plug the ethernet cable into the triangle power hub and the other end into a working network wall jack. Then plug the teleconference station into the triangle power hub using the other ethernet cord. Now you can plug in the satellite microphones into the main teleconference station and plug the power in for the triangle power hub. The display will light up and become active, please be patient as this can take a few minutes. Press the phone icon and dial your call (Press 9 first for off campus calls). If you would like to recieve a call refer to the host number tagged on top of the main teleconference unit.

Rental costs

Podiums

Details

Podiums: We have four podiums in our rental stock. There is a black one, cherry, clear plexiglass, and a blonde. Some of these podiums are outfited with a gooseneck microphone option while the other ones simply require a boomstand beside them to hold a hand held microphone.

Step:

Place podium in desired speaking location.
Step up to podium.
Speak with pride and conviction!

PowerPoint Presentation Remote: Control your PowerPoint presentation remotely. Please note: this tool is not KeyNote-compatible and works only with PowerPoint.

Instructions

The PowerPoint tool offers the following functions in slide-show view:

Click the box button to blank and unblank the screen
Use the forward and back arrow buttons to navigate through your presentation
The top button is a laser pointer. Use it to amuse cats and illuminate the finer points of your talk.

Portable projection screen

Seven foot screen

Details

Portable projection screen: 5 feet, 7 feet or 8 feet.

Instructions

Start by holding the screen vertically in the location that you want to set it up. Rest the screen on its three tripod legs and extend them by pressing the small tab with your foot. Now use the pull out knobs to release the screen at the top, pivot the screen into a horizontal position, and then pull the screen upwards unwinding it until you can hook the metal handle onto the notches at the top of the bar. Finish the set up by using the adjustment knobs to raise the maximum height of the main support post and a button on the handle to drop the bottom of the screen even lower down. Reverse these instructions to take a screen down.

Flip charts

Flipchart whiteboard

Details

Flip chart: We have several flip charts and 26" X 36" white boards in our rental stock. You will need to supply your own paper and dry erase markers - please ensure that the markers you use are for white board use.

Note: If required 24" X 36" 50 sheet flip chart paper can be purchased from Audiovisual for $22.75 per pad.

Instructions

Open the back legs of the flipchart first lock them into a straight position. Then pull the board section up until it clicks into place at the top. To pack up the flipchart you must press one button on the front and one on the back simultaneously to unlock the board and lower it. Please be carefully not to use perminent markers on the white board.

AC power: We have several power cords and power bars in our rental stock to meet your power needs.

Instructions

Some of our power bars have an on/off switch on them, if things aren't powering on try hitting the switch.

Trolley

Metal trolley

Details

Trolley: Comes with extension cord with power bar.

Instructions

These trollies are useful for trasporting AV equipment or using them as a portable table for setting up equipment such as a mixer/amplifier. We also find these trollies excellent for placing projectors on because they are movable and come with a two outlet powerbar. Our trollies have brakes that can be locked on two of the four wheels. Skirts may be available at no additional cost.
