Adobe software licensing benefits

UVic is currently enrolled in an Adobe Campus licensing agreement. This agreement provides the institution with access to Adobe software and services and provides the campus the following benefits:

  • Provides access to Adobe software on UVic-owned computers (see details below)
  • Grants the ability to upgrade UVic-owned computers to the latest versions of Adobe software at any time for no additional cost
  • Permits the installation of the latest Adobe software for student use in the Student Computing Facilities and other student labs

By entering into this Adobe campus licensing agreement, the university seeks to provide an up-to-date computing environment that allows all departments, faculty, and staff to use the latest technology.

What software is licensed under this agreement?

The following Adobe products are available for faculty and staff to use on UVic-owned computers as part of this agreement:

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Animate
  • Adobe Audition
  • Adobe Bridge
  • Adobe Character Animator
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Adobe Fonts
  • Adobe Fresco
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InCopy
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Lightroom Classic*
  • Adobe Media Encoder
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe Premiere Rush
  • Adobe XD
*Lightroom Classic is the only version configured to work properly with UVic security settings.

What is the cost?

This service is currently funded centrally by the University so there is no charge at this time for faculty and staff to use the Adobe software licensed under this agreement. This grants a computer the ability to use required Adobe software tools and ensures that the computer can remain current by upgrading the latest versions of Adobe software for the duration of its use.

There are a limited number of total licenses. The current Adobe agreement does not provide coverage for 100% of UVic devices. To ensure licenses are available for those who need them for their UVic related activities, please inform the Computer Help Desk when you no longer require your license.
