The Affiliate Identity Management System (AIMS) manages affiliate privileges and services at UVic. Affiliates are sponsored guests of UVic that require access to online resources or a UVic ONECard to access library resources. Each affiliate must be sponsored by a UVic employee for the duration of their teaching, learning, research, or other work-based relationship with UVic. Examples of affiliates are UVic contractors, visiting scholars, visiting researchers, or visiting students.

Note: Affiliate status is not intended for incoming Faculty and Staff. To avoid duplicate records, please work with Payroll to ensure incoming Faculty and Staff are appointed appropriately.

Using an online form, affiliates can apply for a primary NetLink ID, granting them access to services such as UVic email address, wireless Internet, the UVic Library website, Moodle, FAST, and Banner. The process to grant affiliate status may take up to 24 -48 hours to complete.
