Computer help
If you run into technical issues while you’re studying or during an exam, the Computer Help Desk can help! During the final exam period, the Help Desk is open 8 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You can reach them by phone or email or by visiting one of their locations.
The Computer Help Desk has drop in access to PC and Mac computers, as well as friendly and capable staff.
Study spaces on campus
There are many quiet places to study across campus.
In the libraries, study rooms, tek booths and walking workstations are available for online booking. Quieter study spaces can be found on the Lower Level and Third Floor of Mearns-McPherson Library, and in the Priestly Library.
Library hours are extended for the exam period—Mearns-McPherson Library is open until midnight.
As always, computer labs are available for drop-in use. You can also book a student project room in the Business and Economics (BEC) building to prepare for a final presentation or exam. Each room has a wall display with connections for laptops, desktop computer, webcam, and whiteboard. Student project spaces are also available in CLE A025. Fill out the student spaces booking form to book.
Food on campus
You’ll still find great food on campus at the Cove and Mystic Market throughout the final exam period. Student-run food outlets in the SUB will also remain open.
Health & wellness
SupportConnect is available 24/7 for free, confidential mental health support for UVic students. You can also meet with a counsellor, doctor, nurse or spiritual care provider through the Student Wellness Centre. Or check the Office of Student Life for community events and supports.
Don’t forget CARSA is open so you can burn off a little steam in between study sessions. Or take time to slow down, catch your breath, walk the Finnerty Gardens and enjoy some quiet time in the Multifaith Centre.
International students
If you’re planning to travel or work over the break, contact the International Centre for Students. Get important information on travel documentation and work eligibility requirements.
Good luck with the end of term!
