Transportation & parking

Getting to UVic is easy, whether you go by bike, transit or carshare. We're investing in sustainable transportation options for faculty and staff.

Sustainable transportation

We’re committed to making transportation to UVic as sustainable as possible. From bike shares and carpooling to public transit, there are many sustainable ways to get to campus.

Employee bus pass

The E-Pass program offers eligible employees monthly Victoria Regional Transit passes at more than 50% off the regular price.

Bus passes can be purchased at the Campus Security Building.

Please visit the BC Transit website for route information.

Changes to your bus pass

As of September 2023, you’ll need to use the BC Transit UMO App or a physical BC Transit card to show proof of payment on city buses. The UVic ONECard will no longer operate as your bus pass.

Parking on campus

If you park on the Gordon Head campus, you need a parking permit Monday to Saturday, 24 hours a day.

All parking permits at UVic are virtual. Your licence plate acts as your permit and you don’t need to display a physical permit.

Visitor parking

Visitors may park at a short term meter or purchase an online virtual parking permit. Parking permits are available at permit dispensers, which you can find in any numbered parking lot outside of Ring Road.

Parking office

The parking office is in the Campus Security Building, which is near the bus loop and the UVic Bookstore.
