Athletics & recreation membership

Regular continuing staff & faculty* can get a discounted CARSA membership which includes:

  • access to CARSA squash courts
  • informal drop-in times and programs
  • tickets to regular season home varsity games (subject to availability)
  • McKinnon Pool & Fitness Weight Centre
  • Ian Stewart Complex informal skate drop-in and shinny
  • equipment rentals via Vikes Outdoor
  • a wide variety of sports and recreation clubs

Employee & family assistance program (EFAP)

EFAP is an employer-paid benefit. We provide you and your family with professional and confidential short-term counselling. Get information and referral services if you're struggling with personal problems.

Mental health & wellbeing

Maintaining your mental health and physical wellness can be challenging, especially when faced with the demands of work. We want our work environments to be safe, supportive, inclusive and healthy. Take advantage of our many resources to support you.

Supports for your students

In addition to providing direct services to students, Student Wellness Centre staff are available during business hours to consult with faculty and instructors regarding student wellbeing concerns at 250-721-7909.

Sports injury clinic

As a UVic employee, you have access to physiotherapy and massage therapy services through the UVic Sports Injury Clinic.

Return to work

Our return to work program helps employees return to or remain at work after an injury or illness. It's a collaborative, individualized process. We'll develop a personalized plan with you, your health care providers and your department.

Ergonomics program

Our ergonomics program promotes practices to ensure the health and safety of all our employees.

Central accommodation fund

We established the central accommodation fund to help us accommodate our employees with disabilities. Departments can access our funds if they need help providing accommodations.
