Final exam schedule

Summer 2026

Term 1

  • The final exam period for Term 1 of the summer session will take place from Tuesday, August 4, to Monday, August 17, 2026, excluding Saturdays and Sunday.

Terms 2-7

  • Examinations for summer session courses held in terms 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are held in class on the day noted on the course syllabus. Final examination dates for these terms are not listed on this website.
  • In the event that a final exam from term 1 conflicts with a regularly scheduled class time (terms 2-7), students must contact the department and /or the instructor(s) as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements for the final exam (term 1).

Scheduling notes

The exam schedule only includes courses that are scheduled by the Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Management during the official exam period.

  • Instructors are responsible for informing students of any changes made after the finalized exam schedule has been posted.
  • Due to the mix of both online and face-to-face delivery of exams, the schedule includes limited details on exam formats. It is the instructor's responsibility to provide students with details on how the exam will be delivered.
  • Start times are only provided for synchronous timed exams (face-to-face and timed online). For all other exams, please speak to your instructor for details on when your exam will begin.
  • Both start and end dates are listed for all multi-day exams and some flexibly timed exams. If no end date is listed for a flexibly timed exam, the exam duration is less than one day.

Face-to-face exams

  • Students are required to present identification upon entering the examination room.
    • Acceptable forms of identification include the physical UVic ONECard or valid (non-expired), government issued photo ID.
  • Important note: you must bring physical ID with you. The mobile ONECard is not considered official ID for final exams.

  • You may only use materials and equipment (e.g. calculators, translators) that are authorized in advance by the instructor in charge of the course.
  • You can bring food and drink to consume during the exam, but containers must have had all labels removed prior to entering the exam environment.
  • Your mobile phone and other devices must be turned off and left with your personal belongings at the location instructed.
  • All materials, equipment and containers are subject to inspection.

  • During an exam, all students must leave their personal belongings in a designated location in the exam environment. This location is monitored, but theft is still a possibility.
  • To reduce the risk of theft, we recommend that you not bring items of value with you unless absolutely necessary.
  • The university is not responsible for the loss or theft of any personal belongings while on campus.

The Term 1 exam schedule will be available in mid June. Students should wait until the schedule is posted before making travel or work plans.
