Faculty of Health (updated May 6, 2024) - Through a Senate-led process, UVic is establishing a new faculty to enhance our health profile.
Academic Accommodations (updated May 1, 2024) - UVic is continuing temporary accommodation supports for Summer Session 2024, similar to what was put in place during Winter Session 2023/24.
West Shore Campus (updated April 25, 2023) - UVic will offer a Computing Gateway program at a new campus in Langford, expected to open September 2025 in partnership with Royal Roads and Camosun.
Campus-wide service excellence (updated April 26, 2024) - Starting in 2023, faculty and staff stakeholders will be asked to complete surveys on the quality of campus services and how areas can be more effective.
Course outline guidelines (Feb. 27, 2024) - Senate recently approved revisions to the Course Outline requirements for the undergraduate and graduate academic calendars.
Engagement Tour (Jan. 2024) - During spring term 2024, the Vice-President Academic and Provost is engaging with Deans and their leadership teams on institutional priorities and academic planning.

Accessible BC Act compliance (updated June 2, 2023) - The BC Government requires all publicly funded universities to develop an accessibility committee, accessibility plan and feedback mechanism by September 1, 2023.
Listening Tour (April 1, 2023) - During a fall 2022 Listening Tour, the Vice-President Academic and Provost engaged with leaders, faculty, librarians and staff across campus to hear thoughts, ideas and feedback on UVic’s academic mission.
Kaplan agreement (Feb. 22, 2023) - UVic has signed an agreement with Kaplan International to support our international recruitment efforts, for both undergraduate and graduate programming.

UVic welcomes new VP Academic and Provost (July 1, 2022) - On July 1, 2022, Dr. Elizabeth Croft began her five-year term as UVic's new Vice-President Academic and Provost.
Course delivery modes (Feb. 16, 2022) - Senate has approved new course delivery codes and definitions, effective Winter Session 2022/23. The new course codes are: face-to-face; blended; online with some face-to-face; and fully online.
