Master of Arts and Master of Science in Kinesiology
The School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education (EPHE) offers two pathways for master's students interested in kinesiology: a Master of Arts (MA) and a Master of Science (MSc) degree.
In both programs, you'll study human movement and physical activity and its impact on health, society and quality of life. These programs also provide you with pre-professional training to help you pursue a career in physical and occupational therapy, medicine and health-related fields.
What's the difference between an MA and MSc in Kinesiology?

Course & program structure
As part of your program, you'll take courses that will inspire and prepare you to engage in an in-depth research project or thesis. Our programs are designed for considerable flexibility, allowing you to pursue your own areas of interest under the guidance and advice of a supervisor.

Co-operative education & work terms
Co-operative education is an optional addition to both the MA and MSc in Kinesiology Programs. If you have questions about how you can alternate your coursework with paid work terms related to kinesiology, please contact the program's co-operative education coordinator.
Funding, scholarships & grants
As a kinesiology graduate student, you may be eligible for a range of funding opportunities, including conference and travel grants, bursaries and scholarships.
