Academic advising
Whether you have a question about programs, prerequisites and course planning, or you're looking for advice, the School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education (EPHE) academic adviser is here for you.
The EPHE academic adviser can help you with the following:
- planning your course schedule to meet graduation requirements
- verifying transfer credits when coming from another institution
- changing your program
- taking courses at another institution
Most advising questions can be answered by email. So, please consider sending any questions to the academic adviser.
Drop-in consultations are also scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. The academic adviser's office is in Room 115 in the McKinnon Building, opposite the EPHE general office.
Alternatively, you can schedule an individual advising appointment by email. Just indicate a day and time that suits you outside of the times listed above, and the academic adviser will confirm their availability. Please allow up to 48 hours for an email response.
Student athletes
Our main priority is your academic development; however, we also want to support you as a student athlete.
If you are having difficulty organizing your schedule around your training or competitive commitments, please speak with the academic adviser.
If you find that class activities conflict with your athletic commitments, you should discuss this with the appropriate course instructor to determine if any accommodations are possible. In some instances, it might be advisable to delay taking a class until you can fully devote yourself to it.
It is not unusual for student athletes to reduce their course load during the terms when their competitive commitments are high (e.g., taking 3 or 4 courses per term). If you elect to do this, you should ensure that it will not adversely affect your athlete status, student loan(s) or scholarship(s).
