Kinesiology (Bachelor of Science)
The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Kinesiology Program prepares you to enter the fields of movement analysis, exercise prescription and exercise management. It will also prepare you for further study in medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic or teaching.
Career options
As part of the Kinesiology Program, you will study physical activity from different perspectives and apply your knowledge to sport, recreation and rehabilitation settings.

Honours program
Honours is an optional addition to an undergraduate major in kinesiology and is intended for motivated, self-directed students who wish to engage in research during their degree. You can apply for admission to honours in the third or fourth year of your program.
Co-op education
Olivia Bowyer-Smyth was drawn to UVic's Kinesiology Program because of its supportive learning environment. She became the first UVic co-op student hired by the BC Lions Football Club.
Ready to apply?
There are two points of entry to the Kinesiology Program:
- directly from high school into Year 1 of the program
- as a post secondary transfer student into Year 2 or later of the program
If you have completed post-secondary courses (except for the UVic U-Start program), then you need to apply as a post-secondary applicant Year 2 entry.
