Our MPA course-based (online) program is for active professionals interested in career advancement. You can complete this degree while you work full-time.

Outcomes

The MPA course-based (online) option focuses on the topics of governance, policy, management, research, economics, finance, human resources and communications.

Throughout the program, you will develop professional writing and research skills. You will put new-found knowledge and expertise to practice immediately in your own work environment.

Program specific requirements

As part of your application, you must submit:

  • Names and email addresses of at least two academic referees. They may also submit a letter with the assessment to strengthen your application. If it has been over five years since you last attended a post-secondary institution, you may include three professional references from work-related supervisors instead of academic referees. Professional references will be required to submit a letter only and will not be asked to submit an assessment report. You’ll be asked for the name and email addresses of your referees during the online application process and the Graduate Admissions office will contact them.
  • Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts.
  • A letter of intent describing why you are seeking an MPA and how the degree relates to your career plans, personal values and goal.
  • A professional résumé.
  • If you do not have a Canadian undergraduate degree, you will need to write and submit your official GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) scores.
