Every classroom and admin building at UVic has bike racks for short-term parking close by.
Covered bike racks

Indoor bike parking
Indoor bike parking is available in the Campus Bike Centre (beneath the Jamie Cassels Centre) and the Bike Parkade (at McKenzie and Gabriola, near CARSA). For added security, the parkades are under 24-hour video surveillance.
Locker rentals
Rented lockers and bike cages are ideal for commuter cyclists who want a safe, dry, consistent place to park their bike or store their equipment on campus.| Locker type | Cost |

Bike cages and lockers
Bicycle storage cages and lockers are located in the Campus Bike Centre and outdoors around campus, close to many academic buildings. They’re ideal for regular bike commuters who want a dry and secure space to store their bikes while they’re on campus. Contact us to rent a bike cage or locker.
Bike lockers in residences

Equipment lockers
Equipment lockers for cyclists are available in the Campus Cycling Centre and several classroom and office buildings. They’re ideal for storing your helmet, a change of clothes, lights and other bike accessories so you can travel light on campus. Contact us to rent an equipment locker.

Recreation buildings
Lockers in the CARSA and McKinnon buildings are rented through Athletics and Recreation. Visit the front desk at either building.
Regulations
You can only secure a bicycle:
- to a bike rack
- in a bike locker
- in a bike storage room
You can’t use racks for long-term storage (more than 72 hours) except in Family Housing and the Residence complex. This time limit ensures rotation at the cycle racks so that all community members have a fair opportunity to use the cycle racks.
Bikes or bike locks that appear to be abandoned (either because of how long they’ve been left or damage) may be tagged for removal. After 14 days, Campus Security may impound a tagged bike or lock. Bikes that are damaged, have missing parts or present a safety risk may be removed without being tagged first.
Bikes that are parked improperly will be impounded by Campus Security. We hold impounded bikes, locks and other accessories for 30 days. After that, we’ll donate, recycle or sell them. Proceeds of bike sales go to student bursaries.
