Motorist & commuter services
Employee bus passes
Continuing UVic employees can purchase an E-Pass (discounted employee bus pass). They are sold in 1-month and 4-month allotments.
The employee bus pass is not transferable and is for the use of eligible employees only. You must agree to use the bus pass for your personal use to commute to the UVic Gordon Head Campus.
You can buy an employee bus pass at the Campus Security office.
Any outstanding balance on your account must be paid in full before you can purchase an employee bus pass.
Student bus passes
If you’re a student, you’ll get a U-Pass benefit code that you can use with the Umo mobile app or a reloadable card. You don’t need to buy passes from us. Learn more about U-Pass.To qualify, an eligible employee is defined as an employee who:
- lives off campus,
- doesn't have a parking permit, and
- is benefit-eligible
or
- is on a continuing appointment
or
- is on a temporary appointment of at least one month and
- works at least 3 days per week.
Any outstanding UVic citations must be reconciled to qualify for an employee bus pass.
In compliance with Canada Revenue Agency regulations, the UVic investment toward employee participation in the employee bus pass program is considered a taxable benefit. The deduction from your paycheque will be the tax on the UVic portion.
