The Minor in Physical Education can be combined with most UVic majors, but is designed mainly for students who want to become secondary school physical and health education teachers.

As part of the physical education minor, you'll gain:

  • an understanding of fundamental movement skills across a range of physical activities
  • the ability to develop student-appropriate learning experiences
  • an appreciation of critical issues in physical education
  • opportunities to build professional problem-solving skills
  • hands-on experience working in different physical environments with students from local schools

Admission

This is a minor program that can be added to your primary degree to broaden your studies. You can declare your minor after one or more years of full-time study at UVic.

Your academic advisor can help you plan your courses to ensure you meet the requirements of both your major and minor programs.
