Exploring the nature of grief and loss

The death of a loved one can be overwhelming. Loss is a universal event, yet grief is an individual experience. The purpose of this group is to explore the role grief plays in our healing process.

Through the sharing of experiences in a caring, supportive and respectful environment, this group will explore issues related to adjusting to a life without that person. Our goal is to better understand our individual experience of grief by learning how others cope with painful times.

Potential topics include:

  • Coping strategies and resources
  • Normal grief reactions
  • Different kinds of loss
  • Anniversaries
  • Culture, rituals and ceremonies

  • How does this experience change who I am?
