May 1 First-year & deferral student housing application deadline This deadline applies to residence applications for Winter Session 2026-27
May 5 Earliest move-in date for registered summer students  
May 15 Undergraduate and Graduate lottery application deadline Submit your housing application on or before May 15th
Aug 1 Balance for Term 1 fees due This payment deadline applies to students living in residence for Fall 2026
Aug 17 Last day of May - August exams  
Aug 22 Housing contract ends for registered summer students Students must vacate by 11 a.m. on August 22, 2026

Fall 2026

Sep 6-7 Move-in Day Students are required to select a move-in day timeslot.
Sep 6-7 Residence Orientation  
Sep 9 First day of classes (Term 1)  
Oct 1 Room acceptance fee for Term 2 due This payment applies to in-room residents who are staying for Term 2 (Jan-Apr).
Oct 5 Applications for Fall 2027-28 open  
Oct 20 Application opens for Spring 2027 You only need to apply for Spring 2027 if you do not have a Winter Session (Sep-Apr) room assignment.
Nov 9-11 Reading Break  
Nov 15 Term 2 fees due  
Dec 7 Last day of classes (Term 1)  
Dec 10-23 Exam period  
Dec 23 Last day of exams (Term 1) Students must vacate by 11 a.m. the day following the last scheduled exam.
Dec 24 Last day of Residence Meal Plan service: Breakfast

Residence move-out date for fall term residents.

Last day to vacate residence before winter break for returning residents.
Dec 25 University closed The university, including Residence Services, is closed for winter break.

Spring 2027

Jan 4 University opens The university, including Residence Services, opens after the winter break.
Jan 4 Move-in day for Term 2 New students moving to campus for Term 2 will receive move-in information by email.
Jan 4 Residence Meal Plan service starts: Dinner Limited options and operating hours. Please see UNFS website for details.
Jan 4-5 Residence orientation Specific information will be emailed to new residents.
Jan 6 First day of classes (Term 2)  
Feb 1 Applications for Summer 2027 open  
Feb 15-19 Reading break  
Apr 7 Last day of classes (Term 2)  
Apr 10-26 Exam period
