This interdisciplinary program introduces you to major world religions, contemporary debates, and diverse ways of understanding belief. You’ll examine how religion is practiced, experienced and challenged in societies around the world.

Co-operative Education (Co-op)
- Through UVic’s Co-op program, you’ll apply what you learn in paid, career-related positions that count toward your degree—and give you a head start after graduation.
- Co-op is available to everyone, including international students with co-op work permits.
- On average, 70 percent of UVic Co-op students graduate with a job offer already in hand.
- Unlike at some universities, at UVic, you don’t have to compete for a spot in Co-op.
Hands-on learning
- Research that matters - Join live talks at UVic's Centre for Studies in Religion and Society and explore big issues like identity, conflict and social change.
- Explore spirituality in Victoria - Visit local sacred spaces and experience how religion shapes everyday life in Victoria.
- Learn by doing yoga - Take The People, Practices and Politics of Contemporary Yoga—study yoga’s meaning and practise it with an instructor.
