UVic Concert Band

The University Concert Band is directed by Dr. Steven Capaldo.

  • This large wind band is open to all students, faculty, and staff from across UVic, as well as all community musicians and school students.
  • No audition is required.
  • A playing level of approximately RCM Grade 8 (Concert Band Grade 4) is recommended for players to be comfortable with the repertoire.
  • The UVic Concert Band performs once a semester at The Farquhar at UVic – one of the premiere concert auditoriums in Canada – and combines with other performing artists and ensembles in exciting collaborations to energize and inspire our audiences and our members.

About

The UVic Concert Band is a large community wind band performing a range of classic and newer works including traditional concert band repertoire, jazz, popular music, movie and media soundtracks, and music from many other mainstream idioms. Rehearsing in a fun and friendly environment, the band is a diverse and welcoming ensemble.

Registration for community members

Community members can registration for Concert Band through Continuing Studies.
