The UVic Wind Symphony is directed by Dr. Steven Capaldo

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students from all faculties and departments. 
  • An audition is required (see audition schedule). Specific audition excerpts are required. Interested persons should contact the director for details.
  • Performs twice per semester in The Farquhar at UVic.
  • Details about recent performances can be found on the School of Music Audio Archive.

About:

The UVic Wind Symphony is recognized as one of the premier performing wind ensembles in the Pacific Northwest. Repertoire includes transcriptions of orchestral works, concerti, chamber ensembles, large symphonic and new music for the concert band.

The Wind Symphony regularly features student, faculty and guest solo artists, collaborates annually with the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy, and has given numerous Canadian and world premieres of contemporary works.
