About

Hello, my name is David Batterham, the Baha’i representative at the University of Victoria. I have been a member of the Baha’i faith for almost 40 years and lived in northern Canada, Australia and Belize. I like to listen and invite dialogue as students, faculty and staff explore their spiritual paths.

For a number of years in education, I worked directly and at a distance with adult and school-aged students. I have also had a business as a painting contractor. After a career helping students to develop learning skills and self-confidence, I now support students and others on their spiritual pathways and explorations as they seek balance in their lives.

I enjoy walking, Tai Chi, yoga, reading, singing, the outdoors and my large, loving and joyful extended family.

My office hours are by appointment.

About the Bahá’í' faith

The Bahá’í Faith is established in more than 100,000 localities in virtually every country and territory around the world.

Bahá’ís believe the crucial need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the future of society and of the nature and purpose of life. Such a vision unfolds in the writings of Bahá’u’lláh.

If the learned and worldly-wise men of this age were to allow mankind to inhale the fragrance of fellowship and love, every understanding heart would apprehend the meaning of true liberty, and discover the secret of undisturbed peace and absolute composure.” – Bahá’u’lláh
