About

Hi! My name is Sarah (she/her pronouns). I grew up on Okanagan and Secwepemc territories (in Kelowna and Salmon Arm) and have been an uninvited visitor on lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories since 2010. I am a sessional counsellor here at the Student Wellness Centre, offering wellness consultations so we can explore what is going on for you and collaboratively create a plan for next steps. I offer information about relevant resources and sometimes bring mindfulness practices into the consultation as well. Please note that as a sessional counsellor I am only on site two days per week, to provide additional counselling coverage during the busier times of the year.

I completed my MA degree in Counselling Psychology from UVic this past summer, and am currently co-facilitating groups for young adults with anxiety through the YMCA-YWCA’s Y Mind program. In the past I have worked as a community support worker for adults with developmental disabilities, offered crisis support and emotional support to youth online, and I was a practicum counsellor here at UVic’s Student Wellness Centre last year.
