About

Hi there! My name is Brea and as a pre-doctoral intern I have had the privilege of supporting UVic students since August 2024. I will be continuing to provide counselling support at the SWC until the end of November 2025, and my west-coast-active-lifestyle-loving heart is happy to remain in Victoria where the ocean, evergreens, and mountains are endlessly worth appreciating and exploring!

Counselling Approach

I approach therapy from a person-centred, strengths-focused perspective, meeting you with curiosity, compassion, and collaboration. I believe we all carry the capacity to heal and grow, and my role is to join you for part of your journey—helping you to become curious about patterns (of behaving and relating), connect with your inner compass (identifying values and goals), and take meaningful steps toward change.

In my work, I incorporate imagery, metaphor, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based, and compassion-focused approaches to support exploration and open space for new perspectives. I am also interested in nature-based practices as opportunities to cultivate gratitude, generate inspiration from wonder, deepen connection to place, and expand how therapeutic change can be experienced.

I enjoy encouraging and empowering people who are ready to experiment with change and move toward alignment in their lives. I also bring a particular interest in sport and performance psychology, supporting athletes and high performers in cultivating both wellbeing and excellence.
