About

My name is Sarah, and I am a practicum counsellor. My pronouns are she/her. My family immigrated from the United Kingdom and France in the mid 1800s and settled as uninvited visitors in Newfoundland and southern Ontario. I grew up in Nova Scotia, Southern California, and Vancouver Island and have lived on the unceded traditional territories of the K’ómoks First Nations in Cumberland, BC for the last 3 years. I studied history and education at UBC and followed the path to counselling psychology through my love of working with student and athletes. I swam and rowed competitively for over 12 years and am especially interested in supporting student-athletes to be able to show up to both competition and life feeling whole and steady.

Counselling approach

My approach to counselling is grounded in relationship, connection, and empowerment. I aspire to support clients in developing an understanding of themselves and the world around them, and to offer practices and resources that allow them to feel capable of tackling challenges and creating satisfying connections in their communities.

In my personal life, I love playing and watching sports, being outside, taking care of plants, and cooking, eating, and talking about delicious food.
