Marcela Faralhi Daolio
2026 Community-Engaged Research and Knowledge Mobilization Award for Graduate Students
Marcela takes a sustained, community-grounded approach to climate adaptation research, particularly in her impactful work alongside the Skidegate community in Haida Gwaii and the BC First Nations Health Authority. She has a rare ability to mobilize knowledge across academic and community audiences, and your innovative methodology centering community assets, all contributions that meaningfully advance Indigenous-engaged environmental research.
Claire Wright
2026 Research Excellence Award for Graduate Students
Claire’s urgent and innovative research examines ecological change and responsible conservation intervention across Waterton Lakes and Jasper National Parks, using historic and repeat landscape imagery, while her technical ingenuity in developing custom QGIS tools, ongoing collaborations with Indigenous knowledge holders, and remarkable publication record further underscore the depth and impact of her work.
