Co-operative education (co-op)

Co-op is an immersive way for students to discover career options while getting valuable paid work experience. After a first year of study, full-time UVic students can alternate co-op work terms with academic terms.

Here are some examples of past co-ops completed by chemistry students:

  • Academic research projects (theoretical and applied)
  • Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies
  • Breweries, wineries and distilleries
  • Food, chemical and equipment manufacturers
  • Natural resources management and research

For further info, visit the co-op website or reach out to scicoop@uvic.ca.
