Indigenous Students
We offer a limited number of priority placements in Family Housing dedicated to eligible Indigenous students and their families.
To be considered for Family Housing, students must submit an application in the housing portal.
Indigenous Priority eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must meet the academic eligibility criteria for Family Housing.
- The applicant has demonstrated eligibility in accordance with the Indigenous Citizenship Declaration (ICD) Policy (GV0810). To be eligible to receive an offer through the Indigenous Housing Program, applicants must provide an ICD Application, if not already done so, to confirm eligibility. Please note that the ICD Application must be for the applicant/student, not other family members. For more information on how to engage with the ICD Process, please visit: uvic.ca/ovpi/icd.
- A Family Housing application has been submitted in the housing portal.
If the above criteria is met, applicants may indicate their interest in the Indigenous housing program directly within the housing application on the self-identification page. Alternatively, please email resfh@uvic.ca with your full name, UVic Student ID (V#) and indicate your interest in the Indigenous housing program. Placements are considered at the start of each term (Fall, Spring, Summer).
To learn more about this program please contact Family Housing at resfh@uvic.ca or phone 250-721-6048.
