NSERC Alliance grants provide support for 19 UVic-led projects
Almost $3 million funding for 17 UVic researchers over 19 projects was announced on March 13, 2024 through the NSERC Alliance Grants program.
The Alliance Grants were announced as part of the Government of Canada's investment of over $1.7 billion in research. The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Transport and Quebec Lieutenant, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and the Honourable Mark Holland, Minister of Health, announced support for over 7,700 researchers and research projects across Canada.
Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Alliance grants encourage university researchers to collaborate with partner organizations from the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. These grants support research projects led by strong, complementary, collaborative teams that will generate new knowledge and accelerate the application of research results to create benefits for Canada.
