President's Beyond Borders Fund

President's Beyond Borders Fund was established in 2015 to encourage student mobility. A total of $449,000 was made available over four academic years (2015/16 to 2018/19). This financial support streams from the President's Excellence Fund and Asia Partners Fund, which are targeted funds to UVic from donors.

Funding for student mobility activities in the Asia-Pacific region will now continue for another two academic years (2019/20 and 2020/21) at minimum, including support for internships, field schools and co-op placements in the region.

“With this fund, I’m aiming to increase mobility opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge, cultural understanding and educational experiences. I'm grateful to the donors whose support provides more access for students who might not otherwise be able to participate in such opportunities.”—UVic President Jamie Cassels, QC

Funding for student mobility within Canada and for Indigenous community work opportunities previously available as part of the President’s Beyond Borders Fund will now be available as part of UVic’s new Experiential Learning Fund.
