Communities of practice

We offer several Communities of Practice (CoPs) that bring together instructors and staff in a collaborative forum to share expertise, explore innovative approaches and strengthen learning and teaching at UVic. Each community focuses on a specific area of practice.

Accessible teaching and learning

The Accessible Teaching and Learning CoP supports development of access-centred, inclusive teaching practices through shared learning, dialogue and practical strategies aligned with UVic’s Accessibility and Equity Action Plans. All members of the UVic teaching community are invited to attend and engage within their capacity.

Generative AI

The Generative AI (GenAI) Teaching and Learning CoP provides a collaborative space to explore the ethical, accessible, and pedagogically sound use of generative AI in teaching and learning, with a focus on course design, assessment, and academic integrity.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL CoP) brings together instructors, researchers, and staff interested in systematically studying teaching and learning, sharing evidence‑based practices, and conducting ethical SoTL research to improve student learning outcomes.
