Brightspace improved navigation

Please see new feature in Brightspace, effective immediately.

Enhanced table of contents

The enhanced Table of Contents (TOC) is now the only available TOC view in the New Content Experience. This change provides instructors and students with a consistent navigation experience when accessing course content.

The enhanced TOC includes the following changes:

  1. Support for unlimited module and topic hierarchy depth.
  2. Learner completion progress indicators for topics and modules.
  3. Support for the Course Overview if it was previously used in Classic Content.
  4. Improved accessibility and keyboard navigation to make restructuring course content easier.
  5. Condensed display for smaller screens.

Please note

The time discrepancy issues impacting Brightspace dates and times has been resolved. However, it is important that all Brightspace users ensure their browsers are up to date as all browsers now have the up-to-date BC time zone information. It is also highly recommended that instructors check all assessments scheduled after November 1, 2026 to ensure the timing is correct.
