Shailoo (she/her) advances teaching and student success through a collaborative, inclusive approach. A connector and catalyst, she leads and supports campus initiatives in accessibility, equity, and anti-racism while engaging in national and community leadership.

About

Shailoo (she/her) leads with a deep commitment to enhancing teaching practices and fostering student academic success. With over 25 years of leadership experience in post-secondary institutions, she brings a collaborative and inclusive approach to creating meaningful learning experiences across campus. Shailoo holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and has held leadership and academic roles at Royal Roads University (RRU) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) prior to joining the University of Victoria.

Before her current role as Executive Director, Shailoo served as Director of Academic Commons and Strategic Assessment in UVic Libraries, where she led initiatives supporting student learning, research services, and organizational development. A connector and catalyst, she contributes to campus-wide initiatives that advance accessibility, equity, diversity, and inclusive pedagogies.

Shailoo is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies, where she has taught a range of leadership courses. Her scholarship spans several interdisciplinary areas, particularly within Library and Information Science, visual research methodologies, educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, and inclusive pedagogies in academic environments.
