Credits

Credits at York:

  • Full-time option: 60 credits per term at York, which is roughly equal to 7.5 UVic units

Course Evaluations at UVic:

  • Once accepted, UVic exchange students will be able to submit York courses to UVic for evaluation. The results will indicate how many UVic units each York course is worth, as well as the course equivalency.
  • Students must use the evaluation results to ensure their York course credits add up to the equivalent UVic units.
  • This evaluation process opens in late September for Spring exchange terms and in late March for Fall exchange terms. Evaluations take 4-6 weeks for results to be made available.
  • Course evaluations results are tentative until the end of the exchange term, when a final evaluation is conducted by UVic Records using your York transcript, and the results are applied to your UVic transcript.

Housing

  • On-campus housing: Guaranteed
  • All of York's accommodation is located on or very near campus and is centred around its colleges. Each college has a welcoming, supportive community, so students will feel at home.
  • Students are assigned a room by accommodation services, if you have a medical requirement this should be specified via a provided form when applying.
  • If students would like to be placed with a specific person, they can email visiting-students@york.ac.uk to request this, although it is not guaranteed.
  • Exchange students can be allocated a room on a semester basis.
