Exeter began its life as a Roman military base in 50 AD and visitors can still see the remains of the Roman wall throughout the city. Today Exeter is a vibrant community which offers a choice of cafes, restaurants, pubs and modern shops which mix easily with historic buildings, including the Cathedral, consecrated in 1133 and rebuilt in the late medieval period.

Awards and Funding

 The Haventree Bank Scholarship is eligible to exchange students from Canadian partner universities studying Computer Science OR at least 50% of their modules at the University of Exeter Business School (includes economics courses). This award is valued at £3000 for single semester exchanges and £6000 for full year exchanges. 

Housing

  • On-campus housing: Available. There is housing for about 3900 students in residences and self-catering flats. Some units are renovated manor houses and others are modern custom-built facilities. All are within an easy walk of the campus.
  • University housing is guaranteed to all exchange students who come for a full year to Exeter and Penryn campuses.
  • University housing is also guaranteed for students coming for 1 semester to our Penryn campus (Cornwall).

  • University housing is not guaranteed for students coming for 1 semester to Exeter campuses.

  • Off-campus housing: Available.
