Immigration:

  • The rules are slightly different depending on a) which country you are a citizen of, and b) how long your stay is.

  • Shortly after you have been admitted, UCPH will send you the residence permit/visa application form with instructions on how to apply.
  • You can learn more about the visa process at the Danish Residence Permit page.

Medical Insurance:

  • The Danish healthcare system covers international students at the University of Copenhagen who are staying in Denmark for more than three months.
  • Exchange students studying for longer than three months can obtain a civil registration number (CPR), so that they can receive medical treatment in Denmark.
  • Reviewing what is covered via CPR, and topping up coverage with supplementary medical/travel insurance before leaving Canada is recommended!

Orientation:

  • UCPH strives to give all new students a warm welcome and to make sure that they are informed about all important details of their stay, including both academic and social matters.
  • Each student will be invited to an orientation when they begin their studies at UCPH, which includes information about getting around on campus, what it’s like to live in Denmark, the academic culture at UCPH, etc.
  • Orientation is a great opportunity to connect with other international students!
