Emeritus and adjunct faculty

At the University of Victoria “Emeritus” status is granted to retired professors to honour their contributions to students, the university and the wider community.  “Adjunct” status is granted for a three-year term to scholars who are affiliated with the university in some capacity, often serving on supervisory committees for graduate students, or working on research projects with regular faculty members. Emeritus faculty are also named as Adjuncts while they continue to supervise graduate students.
