About Emily

Hi! I’m Emily. I’m originally from Toronto, and I moved to Victoria for the beautiful weather and small town feel. Before working in recruitment, I was a Career Educator here at UVic, where I supported students and had the chance to collaborate with dedicated staff who care deeply about the student experience. That role helped me see how supportive and student-focused UVic truly is — and it inspired me to continue growing my career here.

I bring recruitment experience from BMO and training as a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, which helps me guide students through their strengths, goals, and career pathways. Outside of work, you can usually find me at CARSA, where I teach spin classes and enjoy playing sports, running, and trying out a variety of group fitness classes. CARSA is one of my favourite places on campus — it's a fun, welcoming space to stay active, try new things, meet friends, and reset during busy school weeks. Whether we meet in person or online, I can't wait to meet you and help you to feel confident in your next steps.

My advice to future university students

Get involved! University is your chance to try new things and find your people. Some of my favourite parts of my university experience happened outside the classroom—sports, clubs and volunteering. UVic has so many resources — use them! Ask questions, get involved, and don’t be afraid to explore. Your university experience is what you make it!
