Changemakers Summit sparks solutions through community collaboration

April 16, 2026

Thank you booklet

The School of Environmental Studies is delighted to see this year’s Changemakers Summit come to life, shaped by the energy, care and commitment of students working in close collaboration with community partners.

Emerging from a course led by Ryan Hilperts, the summit created a lively space for connection and exchange, where students stepped into the work of organizing and hosting conversations around complex social and environmental challenges. It reflects a deeply relational approach to learning—one grounded in participation, collaboration and real-world engagement. Experiences like this offer an opportunity to learn through doing, to build relationships, and to take part in work that connects meaningfully with communities beyond the university.
