The Department of Biology is inviting expressions of interest for sessional lecturer positions for courses offered in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms.
Fall 2026 Courses:
BIOL 150A – Modern Biology
Two lecture sections; 3.00 units total
Anticipated enrolment: 560 students, maximum 599
Lecture schedule: TWF 9:30-10:30am and TWF 1:30-2:30pm
BIOL 215 – Principles of Ecology
One lecture section; 1.50 units total
Lecture schedule: MR 8:30-10:00am
Anticipated enrolment: 250 students, maximum 250
Important: There is a lab component associated with this course that will require the course instructor to collaborate with the Senior Laboratory Instructor.
BIOL 321 – Survey of Invertebrates

Expressions of interest for Fall 2026 positions are due on or before April 30, 2026. Employment decisions for Fall term courses are anticipated by May 15, 2026. Postings will remain open until filled.
Expressions of interest for Spring 2027 positions are due on or before May 31, 2026. Employment decisions for Spring term courses are anticipated by June 15, 2026. Postings will remain open until filled.
The Department of Biology reserves the right to fill additional teaching assignments from the pool of applicants for this, and previous postings. All sessional lecturer positions are subject to sufficient funding and minimum enrolment requirements in courses. Sessional lecturers are members of CUPE Local 4163 (Component 3). Salary is subject to the CUPE 4163 (Component 3) collective agreement and is based on years of lecturing experience at a post-secondary institution.
