Research
CFYS is at the forefront of interdisciplanary community-engaged research related to youth and families.
CFYS engages in research on a wide variety of themes across local, national and international contexts. Much of our research agenda is constructed in collaboration with policy and practice partners.
Issues affecting youth and families cross disciplinary boundaries. CFYS is a gathering place for researchers from multiple disciplines.
Current research
Many issues facing youth and families today are complex. Teams of researchers at the University of Victoria gather at CFYS to design, conduct and mobilize research toward youth well being.
Knowledge mobilization
Today’s youth are increasingly accessing knowledge in many of our research areas online and through social media. We work with youth research assistants and teams of UVic students to create accessible research products.
Youth & family community research exchange
The CFYS Youth and Family Community Research Exchange matches student affiliates with live youth and family-related research issues from non-profit organizations to create evidence reviews and accessible summaries.
Evaluating youth & family programs
CFYS entertains a limited number of evaluation research requests. The Centre has expertise in the development of evaluation plans and evaluation.
Partnerships
Much of our research is seeded through partnerships with policymakers, practitioners and other research entities. Our research results are richer for these collaborations.
Past research
CFYS has a rich history of working with student affiliates and RAs on projects that benefit the community.
