Ideafest

Ideas that can change everything.
Ideafest is the university’s annual research festival, showcasing the ideas of faculty, students and staff from across the university.
Each year, new and emerging research is explained, debated, re-worked and brought to life in a range of highly creative panels, workshops, exhibits, presentations, performances and tours. This unique event offers a chance to explore and celebrate UVic scholarship and attracts thousands of participants from both the on-campus and greater Victoria communities.
Ideafest 2022
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and after careful consideration, it has been decided not to hold Ideafest in March 2022.
Thank you to the UVic community for your ongoing support of Ideafest!
Research Reels video showcase finalists
Every year during Ideafest, videos created by students, faculty, staff and alumni are screened at the Research Reels video showcase. These videos demonstrate some of the fantastic research happening at UVic, both on campus and around the world.
