Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy

The Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy supports Canadian research excellence by promoting sound research data management (RDM) and data stewardship practices.

UVic RDM Strategy

RDM refers to the processes applied throughout a project lifecycle to guide the collection, documentation, storage, sharing and preservation of data resulting from research and other scholarly or creative work.

The RDM Strategy describes the university’s commitment to promoting and supporting researchers with RDM, including:

  • creating data management plans
  • storing and curating research data throughout a project
  • depositing data in a repository for long-term management and preservation in ways that are consistent with ethical and legal obligations
