Media & making

UVic Libraries offers many opportunities to practice creative scholarship. From podcasting to 3D printing, we provide the space, tools and training to bring your project to life.

3D printing

Create projects with the 3D printers in the Digital Scholarship Commons. Take a free workshop to start learning how to design your own 3D models.

Laser cutting

Discover the joy and beauty of laser cutting. The Digital Scholarship Commons offers free workshops. Create designs for engraving.

Book arts

The Farallon Book Arts Lab supports learning and research in the book arts, including bookbinding, printing and publishing. Experiment with historical and contemporary print technologies, such as letterpress and Risograph printing, to create books, posters, zines and other print objects. The Farallon integrates scholarship and creative studio work through hands-on study of the arts of the book.

Podcasting

Our podcasting studio offers everything you need to make a high-quality podcast, including hardware and software for recording and editing. Visit the Ask Us Desk to book the room.

Have a great podcast project? We want to hear it! Consider entering our annual podcast contest for UVic students.
