Evidence synthesis
Evidence synthesis includes any method of identifying, selecting and combining results from multiple studies. Literature reviews, including scoping and systematic reviews, are a form of evidence synthesis.
UVic Libraries offers two models of support for evidence synthesis:
Consultation and instruction
The librarian provides training or advice in conducting evidence synthesis during a research consultation. Available to any faculty member, student or staff member.
Partnership and collaboration
The librarian joins your team as a contributing researcher and co-author. They are responsible for some tasks, which may include designing and implementing comprehensive and reproducible search strategies.
This support is open to grant-funded projects only, where the librarian’s contribution is offered as an in-kind contribution.
Gather data
Librarians have expertise in tools and techniques for data gathering. We can also help you identify and navigate different data sources.
